Juice detox... mmmm nah yeah

So I arrived at my new location in Costa Rica and I was asked if I wanted to do a three day juice detox. I have done detoxes before so thought why not, it would make me feel great!

We stocked up with mountains of fruit & veg, celery and carrots were our main components!

Celery is such a great addition in nearly all your smoothies but definitely in juices. It contains a lot of vitamin C & K, as Well as Magnesium and B 6!

Carrots on mass too as they are super high in vitamin A along with many powerful antioxidants. I find carrots make a juice sweeter too and once your finished the cleanse a carrot serves as a great snack!

Day one was so freaking easy, in fact delicious, I pretended they were cocktails and sipped away in the hammock or the pool feeling like I was on vacation (mmmm I guess my life is a vacation!)

Day two I wanted to eat everything, my cravings were so bizarre, pizza with cheese and pepperoni for one! Bearing in mind I don’t eat wheat, cheese or meat hahah! I did a yoga class on this day and also felt my most energised..... I thought I had got away with the detox affects!

Oh no... day three! I woke and did an oil pull again (tell you in the next blog) then went on a hike.

I haven’t worked out that intensely in the heat for a while, literally wanted to collapse at the end but felt good. It reminded me of school cross Country but I chose to do this!

After this we had our juice which today i added some CBD to for an extra boost as the detox had kicked in. I had migraine type headache come on and I was in bed from the afternoon until the next morning!

I’m not going to make light of it, it was horrible BUT I woke the fourth day and it had gone! Yay! Yoga and fresh fruit then some eggs and my day was set!

So I’m on my 5th day and I’ve been eating clean, I feel clearer not just physically but emotionally. Sitting in a place of cleansing released a lot of emotions for me, this may scare some of you but it is necessary to release excess toxins whether physically or emotional.

I encourage resting, nurturing yourself and keeping the detox days very very simple.

Here is a list of the juices we rotated, 6 juices a day spaced about 2 hours apart. I also drank a lot of warm water with lime and ginger plus peppermint tea.

I can’t wait to hear how you feel!
